A wanted criminal was arrested after an encounter with the police in UP's Bulandshahr
A wanted criminal was arrested by a joint team of the Special Task Force and the police following a shootout in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr, officials said on Tuesday.
The criminal, identified as Jitendra alias Jeet of Hathras, was stopped by the police during a check on Monday evening. He was arrested after a shootout in which he was wounded, they said.
Police recovered illegal weapons, live cartridges, an SUV and three fake gun licenses from Jitendra. He was wanted in several cases at the Sasni police station.
Jitendra is being treated at a hospital, where his condition is stable, officials said.
